Non-EU students need a residence permit (Aufenthaltserlaubnis) to study in Germany. The student permit (§16b AufenthG) is typically issued for 2-3 years based on your study program length.

Who handles this? Ausländerbehörde / Service Centre for Immigration KVR, Ruppertstraße 19, 80337 München Phone: +49 89 233-96010

⚠️ You do NOT walk in. Apply online or by post and wait for processing.
